4 layer reduction woodcut with a linoleum keyblock as the 5th layer. All layers printed with Gamblin ink on Stonehenge paper. Edition of 22 original hand pulled prints. The Goethe State Forest features two old growth trees that were too imperfect for the loggers to cut down. They stand as witnesses and survivors and their imperfections make them extraordinarily beautiful. These two trees also feed and maintain several huge stumps around them and have other worldly “knees”. The three panels together give the feel of the whole forest. On the path to the forest there was a patch of mud with panther, boar and possum prints, so I included them in the composition.
